A printable, room-by-room hospital bag list for you, baby and your partner.
Packing for the hospital is a job that gets done in fragments, usually late, and usually while tired. This checklist exists so that nothing has to be remembered at midnight.
What is inside
- For you during labor — the short list of things you want within reach rather than at the bottom of a bag.
- For your recovery — the section most people underpack, because it is easy to focus entirely on baby.
- For baby — kept separate from your things so a tired hand can find the right item.
- For your partner — short, but the difference between a useful support person and a hungry one.
- Documents and admin — what to have together in one folder.
How to use it
Print it and pack in two passes: everything you are certain about now, and the last-minute items on a separate short list taped to the front of the bag. Most people finish around 36 weeks, but earlier is calmer.
A note on medical guidance
This is a packing list, not medical advice. Your hospital or midwife may have their own requirements or restrictions — always follow those over any general checklist, including this one.
If you would rather have it packed for you, we are working on the TBTmom Ready Bag.
