Hi, I'm Sabine.
For most of my life, I was deeply cared for. I was born in Paris, grew up across Pakistan, studied in highly regarded schools and programs, travelled widely, and was fortunate to experience different cultures and beautiful places from a young age. Somewhere along the way, I developed a strong appreciation for quality, thoughtful design, and knowing the difference between something that looks good and something that is actually worth having.
Education and career became another big part of my world. I studied Computer Science, completed a bachelor’s in Information Systems and Management, later earned my MBA, and built my career in technology and project management, including working at IBM across international markets.
I was used to fast-moving environments where the job was simple in theory and rarely simple in practice: make sense of complexity, ask the right questions, organize the noise, and make a clear decision.
Then life changed.
I lost my dad, got married, moved to Canada, and left behind almost everything familiar. Not long after, I became pregnant while we were moving homes, navigating career changes, and trying to build a completely new life.
I still remember realizing that I didn’t even have my maternity bag ready.
Most of my closest friends were scattered across different countries, and I was one of the first among them to become a mom. Suddenly, even tiny questions felt surprisingly big.
Then Aly arrived, and naturally, the questions multiplied.
What does she actually need? What is worth buying? How do I keep her meaningfully engaged? What should I trust? How much technology belongs in our home?
And now, of course, there’s AI.
With my technology background, I don’t see AI as one more thing moms need to panic about or somehow become experts overnight. I see it as a tool, one we can learn to use thoughtfully to save time, get organized, find better ideas, support learning, and help our families step into a very different future with confidence.
So I went back to what I knew: Research. Compare. Question. Organize. Simplify. Decide.
Only now, the subject was motherhood.
I also brought with me a strong instinct for quality, thoughtful design, and lasting value. Without forgetting that real families have real budgets.
That became TBTmom.
A place where I bring together my professional experience, multicultural perspective, technology background, curiosity, and real life as a mom to make modern motherhood a little easier to navigate.
I’m not here to add more noise or recommend more things just for the sake of it. I want to help moms find what is genuinely useful, thoughtfully chosen, and worth their time and money — while feeling more confident about the world they’re raising their children in.
Motherhood is full of small decisions. This is where they get easier.
Most parenting advice sits at one of two extremes. Either it assumes you have unlimited time, energy and attention — or it hands you a rule and leaves you feeling like you are already behind. Neither is much use at 6:40 on a Tuesday morning.
TBTmom was built around a narrower, more useful promise: give mothers things they can actually use today. A checklist that prints. A meal plan that survives contact with a real week. A craft that takes ten minutes to set up, not an afternoon. Nothing here assumes you are doing it wrong.
How we approach it
Usable today
If it cannot be acted on within a day, it does not belong here. Every piece is written to be used, not admired.
No invented certainty
Where something depends on your circumstances, we say so — and we point you to a professional rather than guessing on your behalf.
No jargon, no judgement
Written for people who are tired and short on time, including the parts about technology.
Start where it helps most.
